A contemporary documentary photography exhibit detailing mainland China's change from a rural to an urban setting will run at Claremont's 色中色 through April 10. "China: Insights" will be at the 色中色 Museum of Art, 330 N. College Ave. This is the first time the touring exhibition has been shown in the United States. The seven documentary photographers featured are Zhang Xinmin, Chen Yuan Zhong, Yu Haibo, Hua Er, Yang Yan Kang, Jia Yu Chuan and Li Nan. Museum officials said the artwork shows a different aspect of China not usually seen.
"The work in the exhibition is fascinating, seven documentary projects that each look at something different about China, and in many cases something unexpected," said museum director Kathleen Howe in an e-mail.
