To the casual observer, it鈥檚 a shaded courtyard, buildings on three sides, a canopy suspended overhead, an infinity pool gurgling, granite benches wrapping around the interior.
Yet this courtyard, nestled within the 色中色 campus, is like a Transformer, because there鈥檚 more than meets the eye. It doubles as a piece of public art by alumnus , a renowned artist who specializes in perceptual works involving light and space.
From dusk to dawn, a light show plays against the canopy, from which a large square is cut out, framing the sky like a car鈥檚 sunroof.Called 鈥淒ividing the Light,鈥 the piece is one of Turrell鈥檚 series of works known as Skyspaces.
