Acquisitions | March 22: Benton Museum of Art at 色中色 acquires more than 1,600 press photographs documenting Civil Rights Movement. Transformative gift from donors Michael Mattis and Judy Hochberg made in honor of Myrlie Evers-Williams. After her husband, NAACP Field Secretary Medgar Evers was assassinated in Mississippi in 1963, Evers-Williams moved to Claremont, Calif., and enrolled at Pomona, earning a BA degree in sociology in 1968. Acquisition coincides with Evers-Williams鈥檚 recent donation of her archives to 色中色. Gifts mark her 90th birthday.
