First Destination Report

The Class of 2023 First Destination Report features data that was gathered through surveys and data mining. The College's Career Development Office collects data through the end of the calendar year to reflect opportunities obtained by recent graduates following The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) standards. This report highlights the career destinations for our most recent alumni who graduated between July 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023.

Per NACE standards, the KNOWLEDGE RATE is the percentage of the graduating class for whom an outcome destination is known based on reasonable and verifiable information concerning their post-graduate career activities.

Being an international student can be hard, especially when navigating your post-graduation plans. I had to pivot many times in college because of my status as an international student. Throughout this, I was able to leverage the expertise of the Career Development Office advisors.

I received specialized advice and support from the CDO, from applying to fellowships and jobs to pursuing graduate school. As a current graduate student, I see how my time with the CDO helped me gain a better perspective and approach to career development.

There is never a shortage of opportunity, resources or community at Pomona to discover and redefine what you want to do. The tough part is sorting through all the noise and finding what best fits and makes sense for you.

The CDO supported me throughout this journey by connecting me with alumni, programs and clubs that not only helped me narrow down what I wanted to do, but helped me understand why I wanted to do it.

The Career Development Office was a constant source of support for me throughout my time at Pomona - from help with searching for internships and jobs, to interview prep, to being a sounding board for ideas. I always felt like I had the resources I needed throughout my professional journey. My interests shifted from government to law school to finally consulting. That was a transition I could not have made without the care and expertise of the CDO. And the best part is that the CDO continues to be a valuable resource for me even after graduating!
